Cork Feminist Reading Group – September Meet

September 10, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

We’re a newly formed feminist reading group – we get together once a month to discuss books, feminism and meet new people. We choose one fiction and one non-fiction book each month, so that people can read which interests them most. New faces are always welcome.

Thanks so much to all of you who made it to our August meet! We had a good chat about both of the August books (Girls will be Girls by Emer O’Toole and Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie).

We also chose our September books, and are really looking forward to meeting again, and hearing what everyone thinks.

September’s Books:
Fiction – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Half of a Yellow Sun (2007)
Non-fiction: Reni Eddo-Lodge, Why I’m no longer talking to white people about race (2017)

Everyone is welcome to join. Feel free to read either, both (or neither) books! And, of course, whether you love, hate or have no strong feelings either way, it’d be great to hear what you think.

FYI, we also picked the non-fiction book for the October meet to allow people more time to request copies from libraries / source cheaper copies: Sara Ahmed, Living a Feminist Life (2017)
